This paper deals with the finite element analysis of a mounded bullet designed based on American Society of Mechanical Engineer's Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code Section VIII, Division 2 for the storage of liquefied petroleum gas. ANSYS Parametric Design Language is used to carry out the structural analysis of mounded bullet. Shell elements are used to model the pressure vessel and surface elements are employed to accommodate the effect of subsoil stiffness. The analysis results are compared with the design requirements.
